Clinics & Services

Blood test (Phlebotomy)

Our Phlebotomy clinics are on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Please call between 11am and 3.30pm to ask about your test results. When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results will be available.

Diabetes Clinic

We offer all aspects of diabetic care including insulin initiation and monitoring. We run a designated diabetic clinic. You should have a diabetic review at least every six months. We would ask you to have your blood tests performed at least one week before your appointment to get maximum benefit from this review. For more information on diabetes please see Diabetes UK

Stop Smoking Clinic

If you want to stop smoking, you stand a higher chance of success with the support of a professional. Book an appointment with our Healthcare Assistant or Practice Nurse. They will guide you through a programme to help you stop.

ECG Monitoring

Our Healthcare Assistants perform all ECGs (electro cardiograms) in our surgery so you don’t need to go to hospital. ECG is a tracing of the electrical currents in your heart and is taken by attaching pads to your chest and limbs. It gives us information about the heart and takes about 5 to 10 minutes.

Anticoagulation (Warfarin) Clinic

We can manage warfarin dosing and INR (blood test) checks in-house. If you are on warfarin and would like to take advantage of this service please mention this to your doctor. We can offer this service for patients of other surgeries with a referral from your doctor.

Contraception and Family Planning

Contraceptive advice and services are available including emergency contraception and implant and coil fittings. Cervical smear tests can be arranged with the Practice Nurse. Our doctors and nurses can give health advice if you are thinking of having a baby.

Cervical Smears

For women between 20 and 60 years of age, these are normally carried out every three years by the Practice Nurse.

Minor Surgery

We offer joint injections and the removal of cysts, moles, lipomas, skin tags and warts. Please make an appointment to see the doctor or Practice Nurse.

Joint Injections

Dr Silva can give joint injections into shoulders, elbows and knees to help with arthritis and tendonitis.

Childhood Immunisations

Children have to be immunised to assure their good health and that of their friends. Please speak to any of the doctors or nurses if you have any doubts as to any routine immunisations.

Influenza and Pneumococcal Immunisation

Influenza can be serious for anyone but particularly so for those over 65 or with other health problems. Our nurses host clinics at various times of the day after we receive our vaccine stock in the autumn.
